About the Opportunity
Ecofor is currently seeking a Hydrologist/Hydrogeologist to join our team in Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Prince George, BC and Whitehorse, YT. However, we will consider candidates that reside outside of these areas in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon Territory. This position will start on April 1, 2025.
This is a Salary position with a wage range is $100,000 – $120,00 per year, depending on experience.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Planning and leading discipline-specific field programs across British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and quality of deliverables.
Liaising with regulators and clients to provide quality work that engages Indigenous
communities and stakeholders.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key clients, identifying new
opportunities for support and growth.
Supporting the Ecofor team’s workload and resource management.
Contributing to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals; and
assisting in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects such as transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas, etc.
Supporting projects from the proposal stage to completion, including reporting, field coordination, and aspects of project management.
Opportunities for field supervision and oversight, travelling and working in remote locations.
Providing technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment.
Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within Ecofor’s corporate
culture
Qualifications include:
To qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in a related discipline with 10 years’
Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of discipline-specific office and field activities (i.e., developing and implementing programs that align with regulatory standards and meet project-specific objectives) including, but not limited to:
Ground water and surface water quality and quantity monitoring and analysis
Watershed and flow analyses
Runoff analyses
Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment
and experience obtaining regulatory approvals.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and physically fit.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, environmental
discipline leads, and First Nations
Registration with EGBC (EIT/GIT/P.Eng., P.Geo.) would be considered an asset.
Due to the nature of the role, you must have a valid Driver’s License.
